When I began searching for an internship, I knew I wanted more than just a place where I could gain professional experience. Of course, learning, growing, and getting hands-on experience in the design field were all important to me, but I also knew those things could happen in many different places. What I was really looking for was a place where I felt welcomed, supported, and excited to be a part of something bigger than myself.
That is what drew me to Greyten.
From the beginning, Greyten stood out to me because of its community. Walking into a new professional environment can be intimidating, especially as an intern, but the people at Greyten immediately made me feel comfortable and valued. Everyone has been so welcoming, encouraging, and willing to help, which has made such a difference as I begin this next chapter in my career.
I did not choose Greyten only because of the work or the professional experience. I chose Greyten because of the people. I knew that I could gain experience, develop technical skills, and learn about the industry in many different settings, but finding a team that genuinely cares about creating a positive and supportive environment is something special. The sense of community at Greyten is what made it feel like the right place for me.
As a recent interior design graduate, I am excited to continue building on the foundation I developed in school. I look forward to learning more about real projects, client relationships, collaboration, and the day-to-day process of design. But more than that, I am grateful to be learning in an environment where questions are welcomed, growth is encouraged, and people are willing to invest in one another.
Greyten’s community has already shown me the importance of being surrounded by people who not only care about the work they do but also care about the people they work with. That kind of environment makes it easier to grow, try new things, and gain confidence as a young designer.
Ultimately, I chose to intern at Greyten because it felt like more than just an internship opportunity.
It felt like a place where I could belong, learn, contribute, and grow alongside people who are passionate, kind, and supportive. I am excited for everything this experience will teach me, and I am so grateful to begin my professional journey in a community as welcoming as Greyten.
